TEFLON TAPE REQUIRED
Apply Teflon tape to the thread before every threaded plumbing connection, including adapters, filter fittings and both ends of each hose.

04   Install the Ice Bath Adapters
STEP 1 — ICE BATH ADAPTERS

Apply Teflon tape to the first adapter thread and connect it to the ice bath inlet valve.

Apply Teflon tape to the second adapter thread and connect it to the ice bath outlet valve.

Use the supplied KOVE adapters or suitable adapters for your setup.

05   Install the Particle Filter
STEP 2 — PARTICLE FILTER

Apply Teflon tape to the inlet adapter thread and connect the larger 5-inch particle filter housing to the ice bath inlet.

Apply Teflon tape to the silver directional adapter thread and connect it to the opposite side of the filter housing.

CHECK THE ARROW
The arrow on the silver adapter must point towards the ice bath.

Filter positioning

  • Mount vertically or horizontally.
  • Do not install upside down.
  • Use spare washers to adjust the final position if required.
06   Install the Hair Net Filter
STEP 3 — HAIR NET FILTER
Apply Teflon tape to the chiller inlet thread and connect the smaller hair net filter housing to the chiller water inlet.
  • Mount vertically or horizontally.
  • Do not install upside down.
  • It may be easier to connect the filter head first.

If installing the filter head separately, apply Teflon tape to the chiller inlet thread before connecting the head, then screw on the bottle section.

07   Connect the Hoses
STEP 4 — HOSE ONE

Apply Teflon tape to the ice bath outlet adapter thread and connect one end of hose one.

Apply Teflon tape to the hair net filter connection thread and connect the other end of hose one at the chiller inlet.

STEP 5 — HOSE TWO

Apply Teflon tape to the chiller outlet thread and connect one end of hose two.

Apply Teflon tape to the silver directional adapter thread and connect the other end of hose two at the particle filter on the ice bath inlet.

CONNECTION CHECK
Apply Teflon tape before every threaded plumbing connection. Confirm the completed system matches the water flow diagram before filling the bath.

08   Fill and Start the Chiller
STEP 6 — FILL THE ICE BATH
Fill the ice bath until both the inlet and outlet valves are completely submerged.
IMPORTANT
Never run the chiller unless both valves are submerged and water can circulate freely.
STEP 7 — START AND SET

  1. Plug the chiller into the mains supply.
  2. Switch the unit on.
  3. Check water flows freely through both filter housings.
  4. Use the up and down buttons to choose your target temperature.
  5. Leave the controls for a few seconds. The temperature sets automatically.
COOLING DELAY
The compressor has a built-in protection delay. Cooling may not begin immediately after switching on.

09   Air Locks and First Use

Pump running but no water flow?

An air lock is the most likely cause. This is common during initial setup and is usually resolved within a few seconds.

  1. Leave the pump running.
  2. Slightly loosen the hair net filter housing.
  3. Allow trapped air to escape.
  4. When water flows continuously, tighten the housing again.

Before your first cold plunge

  • All hose connections are secure.
  • Water circulates freely.
  • Both filters are installed correctly.
  • Both ice bath valves are submerged.
  • No leaks are present.
10   Temperature Controls and Wi-Fi

Control panel functions

  • Power the unit on and off.
  • Set the target water temperature.
  • View the current water temperature.
  • View operating and fault indicators.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi where applicable.
TEMPERATURE GUIDE
For most users, we recommend 7°C to 10°C. New users can consider starting at 10°C to 12°C and gradually lowering the temperature.

Tuya Smart App

Where applicable, connect your KOVE chiller to the Tuya Smart app for remote control.

  1. Connect your phone to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions in Tuya Smart. Your chiller should appear as an available device.
NETWORK REQUIREMENT
5 GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.

11   Cleaning and Filter Maintenance
BEFORE MAINTENANCE
Disconnect power before cleaning, inspecting or replacing filters.
EVERY USE
Check for leaks and ensure water is circulating normally.
WEEKLY
Remove and clean the hair net filter. Inspect all hose connections and check that the particle filter remains clean.

Replace the particle filter when:

  • Water flow becomes restricted.
  • The filter is visibly dirty.
  • The filter reaches the end of its service life.
WHY IT MATTERS
A blocked filter can reduce cooling performance and place unnecessary strain on the pump.

12   Filter Accessories

Keep your accessories together

Keep the supplied fittings and filter housing wrench with your chiller equipment for installation and maintenance.

CONNECTION REMINDER
Apply Teflon tape to the silver directional adapter thread before connecting it to the filter housing. Its arrow must point towards the ice bath. Spare washers can adjust the filter position if required.
SAFETY REMINDER
Disconnect power before carrying out maintenance.

13   Outdoor Use and Storage

Choose the right position

  • Use a solid, level surface close to the ice bath.
  • Install outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

Can the chiller stay outside?

Yes. Your KOVE chiller is designed for outdoor use. Protect it from prolonged direct sunlight and severe weather while keeping the cooling fans clear.

KEEP AIRFLOW CLEAR
Maintain at least 30 cm around the cooling fans. Never block vents or place the chiller inside an enclosed cabinet.

Winter storage

  1. Drain all water from the unit.
  2. Drain the hoses.
  3. Drain the internal pipework.
PROTECT YOUR CHILLER
Never allow water to freeze inside the chiller.

14   Troubleshooting

E18 Error Code

An E18 fault is almost always caused by insufficient water flow.

Check for an air lock, dirty filters, kinked hoses, blocked pipework or low water level.

Pump running but no flow

This is usually an air lock. Follow the air lock procedure in Section 09. Confirm both valves are submerged and the hoses and filters are clear.

Water is not cooling

  • Check cooling mode is active.
  • Confirm water circulates properly.
  • Ensure both filters are clean.
  • Check the target temperature setting.
  • Consider the effect of ambient temperature.
